services and facilities the practice at stanage dental practice fylde, lancashire
Emergency Care
When the practice is closed we have an evening emergency service for all our patients, based in Blackpool.
Every day we have allocated spaces for emergency patients on a ‘first come first served’ basis. We attempt to see all patients who ring before 11.00 a.m., on the same day. If you are in pain, please contact us as early as possible in the morning.
Missed Appointments
NHS appointments are very precious and last year we wasted, on average, 60 hours a month on patients who failed to attend. The local NHS demand is so high that we do reserve the right to refuse to see you after only 1 or 2 missed visits. We also reserve the right to take the full NHS charge for your course of treatment at the initial visit, or at the time you book for your continued treatment. This rule applies to all patients.
Private patients may be charged for missed appointments.
Private Patients
We strongly believe that all our patients should be offered treatment on both an NHS and a private basis, where the time needed for the highest quality dentistry is allowed for. We can employ techniques within a private setting that are taught to us on postgraduate courses, where specialist techniques and equipment can often make a difference. Any cosmetic work, implants and sedation are still only a private option, but may provide huge benefit to those patients who require such types of work. We have an In house scheme which allows you to receive private treatment at a discount, which often brings the price to a level that is very similar to the current NHS. Please ask to see a price leaflet for details.
Even for treatment within the NHS, there is a section on the NHS form for private alternatives to individual NHS items of treatment, and either the practice manager or your treatment co-ordinator will explain these choices to you.
Refund Policy
We want you to be completely satisfied with the level of treatment you receive. We provide replacement crowns and bridges in the rare event this is required, or a full or part refund of treatment costs depending on circumstances within a year.
For a private patient this refund policy is over at least 2 years, depending on the type of treatment received.
If you are not satisfied with the level of care you have experienced, please talk to our complaints manager,Mrs Audrey Kennerley, who will happily deal with any issues you may have.
